Marc Uzan, Executive Director, Reinventing Bretton Woods Committee

I feel that China and France have a lot in common. We have long hoped to reform and improve the Bretton Woods system.

Thanks to Mr. Zhu Min for agreeing to accept my proposal six months ago. We held a successful international conference on the past 80 years and future prospects of the Bretton Woods System in Hangzhou. President Xi visited France two weeks ago, and I was invited to speak at one of the forums to talk about China-France relations. Our former President Sarkozy also proposed to hold a forum in China to discuss the international monetary system. At that time, Vice Prime Minister Wang Qishan readily agreed.

Therefore, I feel that China and France have a lot in common. We have long hoped to reform and improve the Bretton Woods system. We must have faith in this system.
