Xiao Gang

      Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; Former Chairman of China Security Regulatory Commission

Mr. Xiao Gang began working for the People’s Bank of China in 1981. From 1994 to 1996, he served successively as Director of Policy Research Office of the People's Bank of China, General Manager of China Foreign Exchange Trading Center, and Director of the Planning and Capital Department of the People's Bank of China. From 1996 to 1998, he was Assistant to the Governor of the People's Bank of China; after that until 2003, he served as Vice Governor and member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the People's Bank of China, and was in charge of trust business for a long time. From 2003 to 2004, he was Chairman and President of Bank of China. After that until 2013, he served as Chairman and Party Secretary of Bank of China Limited. He held a concurrent post as Party Secretary of China Orient Asset Management Co., Ltd for 10 years since 2003. From 2013 to 2016, he served as Chairman of China Securities Regulatory Commission. In 2018, he was elected as Member of the 13th National Committee of CPPCC. He was Delegate to the 17th CPC National Congress, Alternate Member of the 17th CPC Central Committee and Member of the 18th CPC Central Committee.
