On May 20, 2023, the Tsinghua PBCSF Global Finance Forum grandly opens in Beijing. With the theme of "Bolstering Confidence, High-Quality Financial Development Promoting a Chinese Path to Modernization ", the forum focuses on perspectives of “China and the World”, “Reform and Policies”, and “Academics and Practices”. It invites elites from regulatory bodies, industry and academia at home and abroad, and is held in combination of online and on site. Guests and audiences around the globe join the forum to discuss the future of the finance and build consensus on development.
At the opening ceremony, president of Tsinghua University Wang Xiqin, and Chairperson of School Council of Tsinghua PBCSF Gu Liangfei delivered speeches respectively. The opening ceremony was presided over by Wang Zhengwei, associate dean of Tsinghua PBCSF.
In the keynote speeches, Wang Yiming, member of the 13th National Committee of the CPPCC, vice chairman of China Center for International Economic Exchanges, and Former Vice Minister of the Development Research Center of the State Council; Bukhard Balz, member of the Executive Board at Deutsche Bundesbank; György Matolcsy, governor of Magyar Nemzeti Bank; and Michael Spence, a Nobel laureate in economics, delivered keynote speeches.
At the opening ceremony of the forum, a launching ceremony for the celebration event of the 10th anniversary of Tsinghua Financial Review was also held.
On the morning of the 21st, Zhu Min, former managing director of the International Monetary Fund and former deputy governor of the People's Bank of China, and Ray Dalio, founder of Bridgewater Fund, will carry an in-depth dialogue.
The two-day forum includes: Report Release China Financial Policy Report 2023: Finance with Chinese Characteristics Promoting a Chinese Path to Modernization; Capital Markets Empowering Real Economy Development; Inclusive Financing Driven Rural Revitalization; International Trade: Challenges and Opportunities; Building a New Sustainable Real Estate Finance Model; Finance and Economic Development in Digital Economy Era; Ageing Finance in the Era of Digital Intelligence. In the form of keynote speeches, dialogues, round-table discussions, report release, the participants discuss major issues in the economic and financial fields, and make suggestions for achieving high-quality development and promoting a Chinese path to modernization.
This forum is hosted by Tsinghua University, organized by the PBC School of Finance, and Institute for National Governance and Global Governance, co-organized by Tsinghua University National Institute of Financial Research and Tsinghua University Institute for Fintech Research.
