LU Lei, Ph.D in Economics, Researcher. He served the Policy Research Office and the Research Bureau of the People's Bank of China, the Research Department of China Merchants Bank, Guangdong University of Finance, and the Financial Stability Bureau of the People’s Bank of China. He was Assistant to General Manager at the Research Department of China Merchants Bank, Chief of the China Financial Transformation and Development Research Center, Director of the South China Financial Research Institute, and Assistant to President, Vice President, member of the CPC Committee, President and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee (Department-level) of Guangdong University of Finance, and Director of the Research Bureau and Director of the Financial Stability Bureau of the People's Bank of China. In June 2017, he was appointed Deputy Administrator and member of the CPC Leadership of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange.
