    Dr. Wang Chunxin obtained his PhD in Economics from Xiamen University in 1991. In the mid-to-late 1980s, he served as a policy advisor in the Fujian Provincial Government of China, focusing on formulating economic development strategies, designing reform plans, and addressing economic challenges. After moving to Hong Kong in early 1993, he held positions as an economic researcher at the Bank of China Hong Kong and Macau Administration’s Economic Research Department and later as a senior economic researcher in the Development Planning Department of Bank of China (Hong Kong), specializing in economic analysis and banking strategy. From 2003 to 2009, he served in the Central Policy Unit of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government, rising from Senior Research Officer to Chief Research Officer. Since 2020, he has been the Head of Economic and Policy Research at Bank of China (Hong Kong), and in early 2023, he was appointed Deputy Director of the Chief Executive’s Policy Unit of the HKSAR Government.

    Dr. Wang has published hundreds of articles in domestic and international academic journals and media, authored five monographs, and contributed to multiple co-authored works. In 2022, his monograph Economic Transformation of Hong Kong and Cross-Border Cooperation was selected as a key reference for the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) national reading campaign on “Accelerating the Integration of Hong Kong and Macau into the National Development Landscape,” which engaged 2,270 participants.
