Wang Xin currently serves as Director General of the Research Bureau (Counselors' Office) of the People's Bank of China (PBOC) and Special Advisor to the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED). He has held various positions including Director of the Policy Research Division of the General Affairs Department of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE); Deputy Director of the PBOC's Institute of Finance; Chief Representative of the PBOC's Representative Office in Frankfurt; Deputy Director of the Research Bureau; Governor of the Nanchang Central Sub-branch; Director General of the Currency, Gold and Silver Bureau; and Director of the Office of the State Council Leading Group on Anti-Counterfeit Currency. His primary research areas include green finance, international finance, and financial system reform. He has received the Sun Yefang Prize for Economic Science for his papers.
