Tan Sri Andrew Sheng is a financial commentator with a First-Class Honours degree in Economics from the University of Bristol and honorary doctorates. He is a Distinguished Fellow at HKU’s Asia Global Institute, Chairman of Wawasan Education Foundation and George Town Institute of Open and Advanced Studies, and holds multiple professorships. He serves on international advisory committees for China’s financial regulators, Hong Kong’s CE, and Sabah’s Chief Minister. A former central banker, World Bank manager, and HKMA Deputy Chief Executive, he chaired Hong Kong’s SFC and IOSCO’s Technical Committee. He authored several books, writes for Project Syndicate and Caixin, and was named a 2013 Time magazine global influencer.
