Professor Jing Han Chen currently holds the position of Chair Professor in Accounting and Financial Management and Programme Director for Higher Education at the University of Kent, UK. She is also a Special Appointment Professor at Tsinghua University's PBC School of Finance, and a Visiting Professor at the China Academy of Corporate Governance at Nankai University.

Professor Chen is a Fellow of CPA Australia, a Fellow Academic Member of the International Association of Accountants (UK), and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK). She serves on the International Advisory Board of the College of Business, Public Policy and Law at the University of Galway, Ireland; the International Advisory Board of Tsinghua University's PBC School of Finance; and the International Advisory Board of the MBA Centre at Shanghai University. Professor Chen has long served as a senior accreditation expert and guidance advisor for international business school accreditation bodies (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA, and BGA).

Professor Chen previously served as the Founding Dean of Southampton Business School and Chair Professor in Accounting and Finance at the University of Southampton, UK, becoming the first female and ethnic Chinese Dean of a business school in the UK. She has also served as Chair Professor in Financial Management and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (overseeing Leeds International College) at the University of Leeds, UK; Dean of International Business School Suzhou and Chair Professor in Accounting and Finance at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University; and Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, Director of the Institute for Business Research and Training, and Chair Professor in Accounting and Finance at the University of Macau.

Professor Chen received her PhD in Economics from Lancaster University, UK, in 1992. She is an internationally recognized expert in accounting and finance, with particular research depth in corporate governance, executive compensation, earnings management, information disclosure, corporate finance, ownership and innovation, and multinational corporate strategy and governance. She has published over 200 papers in top-tier international journals, leading academic journals, and conference proceedings, as well as multiple academic monographs. Professor Chen serves as an editor or editorial board member for several leading international academic journals, has delivered numerous keynote speeches at international conferences, and has participated in advisory and confidential committee work in related academic fields. As an experienced doctoral supervisor, she has mentored dozens of PhD and postdoctoral researchers.
