Ambrogio Rinaldi is an international senior expert in the design of pension systems and pension fund regulation and supervision. He is a former Central Director at the Italian Agency for Pension Fund Supervision (COVIP), a former President of the International Organization of Pension Supervisors (IOPS), and a former long-standing Chairman of the Working Party on Private Pensions (WPPP) at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
He represented Italy for many years in various European institutions, including the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA). He managed EU-sponsored technical assistance programs in various countries, including Bulgaria, the Russian Federation, Serbia, and Turkey.
Before specializing in pensions, Ambrogio worked as an economist and financial analyst at Banca d'Italia, the Italian central bank.
Ambrogio has a cum laude degree in Economics from Università di Roma "La Sapienza" and a Master's degree from Harvard University, Cambridge, USA.
