
Sally Chen is currently IMF's Resident Representative for Hong Kong SAR. In this capacity, Sally coordinates the Funds’ outreach efforts in the Greater China region by engaging with government authorities, international organizations, academia, think tanks, media and market participants. Additionally, Sally heads the Hong Kong office’s research and market surveillance efforts on financial market developments across Asia Pacific. Sally has been in various capacities at IMF since 2010, including in the Fund's Strategy Policy & Review department where she helped draft the Fund's policy papers on exchange rates and debt management as well as assignments on country desks for the US and Spain. Sally is a graduate of Wellesley College and Columbia University where she studied economics. Her research focuses on macro-financial linkages, including global liquidity, financial cycles and the impact of debt deleveraging.
