Zhang Liqing is Professor of Economics, Director of Center for International Finance Studies and Former Dean of School of Finance with Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE) in Beijing, China.

He is author, coauthor or editor of numerous publications on international economics and finance issues, particularly in the areas of capital flows, financial liberalization, international monetary system and Chinese economy. He holds both bachelor and Ph.D. degree in economics from Renmin University of China, a master’s degree in international finance from Graduate School of People’s Bank of China. He is a Fulbright Scholar. He has been visiting fellows at well-known academic institutions, including World Bank Institute (1995), 

Petersons Institute for International Economics (2004-2005), Earth Institute with Columbia University (2005) and Fairbank Center for China Studies with Harvard University (2016-2017).


He is vice president of China Society of World Economy, director of China Finance Association and member of academic committee of International Finance Forum. He has advised government departments in China, 

including People’s Bank of China and State Administration of Foreign Exchange. He has also served as independent directors and external advisors for some Chinese listed companies and chief economist of PwC 

China.
