
Lu Yi is Chair Professor at the PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University. He is a recipient of the National High-Level Talent Program, an Outstanding Young Scientist of Beijing, the inaugural China Young Economist Award, and the inaugural Sun Shangqing Prize for Young Scholars in Development Knowledge Research and Exchange. In 2024, he was recognized among the top 2% of scientists worldwide in economics by Stanford University’s global rankings and was named an ESI Highly Cited Researcher. According to RePEc, he ranks among the top 5% of economists globally over the past decade.
Professor Lu received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics from Fudan University and his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Hong Kong. He previously held academic appointments at the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University and the Department of Economics at the National University of Singapore, and the University of Hong Kong.
His research focuses on the Chinese economy, with particular interests in economic growth, public finance, and global economic governance.
