Wang Yiming works as Vice Chairman of China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE) and Member of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). He served as Vice President (Vice Minister) and Senior Research Fellow of DRC from 2015 to 2020. He is a part-time doctoral supervisor at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, professor of Renmin University. He graduated from Nankai University in 1989 with a PhD Degree in Economics. After that, he worked at the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) for more than 20 years and took the posts as Executive Vice President of Academy of Macroeconomics Research and Deputy Secretary General of NDRC. From 1993 to 1994, he had been a visiting scholar at the Department of Applied Economics of the University of Leuven in Belgium. He has been engaged in research on macroeconomic policy, strategy and planning for long. He has published more than 200 academic papers and theoretical articles on important journals both at home and abroad, authored and co-authored more than 10 books. As an expert he enjoys special government allowance. He has won many awards for outstanding research achievements.
