Professor GAO Bin has over 20 years of experience in global macro-investment, financial research and teaching. He is currently the Chief Economist of Kaifeng Investment and the CEO of Kaifeng Investment (Hong Kong), responsible for asset allocation and overseas business. He is also a secial-term professor of Tsinghua University's PBC School of Finance. Previously, he founded Invealth Capital in 2016. As a partner of Guard Capital in 2014-2015, he was responsible for strategic research. During one year, he successfully helped the fund grow into one of Asia's largest macro funds. From 2005 to 2014, Gao Bin served as the managing director of Bank of America Merrill Lynch. During this period, he led the Asia-Pacific FX and Rates strategy team and won top three spots, including #1, several times in the "Institutional Investor" magazine's annual survey. From 2004 to 2005, he was Lehman Brother's Asia head of quantitative portfolio strategy team. Before entering the industry, he was a tenured professor in the Department of Finance at the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and was hired as one of the first 28 special-term professors at Tsinghua's School of Economics and Management in 2002. During his tenure at the university, Gao Bin has published many papers in the world's leading financial research journals such as the Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial Economics et al. Gao Bin graduated from the University of Science and Technology of China with a major in Space Physics. After getting a master degree in the PhD study at the Department of Astrophysical Science at Princeton University, he switched to New York University's Stern Scholl of Business and obtained a Ph.D. in Finance. In his spare time, Professor GAO Bin is a photography enthusiast. In recent years, he has focused exclusively on mobile phone photography and has gained a lot of insights.
